Kara Lubin
100 Mile Club
Spirit Award Recipient, 2010
As a special education teacher, Kara Lubin of Norco found many of her students had incredible potential and were extremely energetic but struggled with learning. From this problem, the 100 Mile Club was born – a program and nonprofit organization that engages children to run 100 miles during the school year and transforms them into calmer, mentally centered, and more teachable students. Founder and CEO, Lubin has grown the 100 Mile Club to more than 1,000 schools in all 50 states and 5 countries. To date, the program has affected over 500,000 students, staff and family members and is growing exponentially every year.
